Gangster Uttam Yadav: Notorious ‘Tiger Group’ Chief Killed in Police Encounter

Chatra: Gangster Uttam Yadav, a notorious gangster and leader of the interstate ‘Tiger Group’, was killed in a fierce police encounter late Saturday evening in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. The encounter has ended the reign of terror by a criminal wanted for dozens of serious crimes in Jharkhand and Bihar. This act led to the arrest of nine of his associates earlier this month.

Recently, he gained notoriety for unabashedly taking responsibility for violent crimes. Just three months ago, he confessed to the broad daylight shooting at a jeweler’s establishment in Hazaribagh. In a chilling video circulated about two months ago, he was seen brandishing an AK-47 rifle and threatening local businessmen in Chatra and Hazaribagh with dire consequences if they failed to pay the ‘levy’.

The Gangster Uttam Yadav encounter is being seen as a major achievement for the Jharkhand Police, ending a persistent threat to law and order in the Jharkhand-Bihar border region.
