ED raids DTO and CO locations in Ranchi-Dhanbad

Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted major raids in Jharkhand on Tuesday, targeting several high-profile individuals in Dhanbad and Ranchi. These include an advocate, a District Transport Officer (DTO), and Circle Officers (COs). The ED raided the premises of Dhanbad DTO Diwakar Prasad Dwivedi, Jai Kumar Ram, Prabhat Bhushan, Sanjeev Pandey, and an individual named Ravi.

The raids are part of an investigation related to the illegal collection of crores of rupees in the name of the ED. Although the exact amount of cash seized from the Dhanbad DTO’s premises is still unclear, some reports have surfaced regarding it.

Extortion Case Involving ED Manipulation

The ED is investigating a land scam involving several COs and land dealers from Ranchi district. It is alleged that these individuals extorted crores of rupees from others by assuring them that their names would not appear in the ED’s charge sheet. Reports suggest that around ₹7 crore was extorted in this manner.

Accusation of a ₹5.71 Crore Deal

The Dhanbad DTO and some Ranchi COs are accused of striking a deal worth ₹5.71 crore to manipulate the ED. Land businessman Sanjeev Kumar Pandey filed a complaint against advocate Sujeet Kumar at Pandara police station in Ranchi, claiming that Sujeet extorted crores of rupees from him and his official associates in exchange for keeping their names off the ED’s charge sheet.

Pandey alleged that Sujeet had assured him that his name would not appear on the charge sheet. However, when Pandey’s name did surface, he demanded his money back. In response, Sujeet gave him 54 cheques and his car, but the matter escalated further. Sujeet also filed a case against Pandey and his associates, accusing them of kidnapping.

This ED action has raised questions about the administrative and legal systems in Jharkhand.
